Write a High-Quality, Professional Sounding Track

For YOUR Game in Just 5 Days

(Even If You've Never Played An Instrument Before)

Stop searching through music libraries for the perfect track when you can do it yourself

Most indie game devs think they need expensive composers, advanced gear, or years of music theory to get great-sounding tracks for their games.

The truth? You could be creating professional-quality music yourself — in just a few days — with a simple, repeatable system that works for any style or genre.

Inside this LIVE 5-day challenge, I'll help you to write, mix and finalize a high quality song you’re proud (and confident) to show off without expensive software, complicated music theory, or experience playing an instrument.

As Heard On:

In Just 5 Days, Here's What You'll Learn:

🎮 Day 1: Discover Your Game’s Sound Identity
Uncover the emotional core of your game and learn how to express it through music. You’ll explore how chord progressions shape mood, tone, and atmosphere — whether your world is calm and cozy or dark and epic. By the end, you’ll have the foundation of your first track ready to build on.

🎵 Day 2: Write a Memorable Melody
Learn how to craft a melody that players remember long after they stop playing. You’ll discover how to create strong musical hooks, use repetition effectively, and make your track loop seamlessly — all without needing deep theory knowledge.

🥁 Day 3: Add Rhythm and Energy
It’s time to bring your track to life. You’ll add drums and rhythm that fit your game’s pacing and emotion, whether it’s an ambient exploration theme or a fast-paced boss fight. You’ll see how rhythm drives energy and connects your music to gameplay.

🎧 Day 4: Mix for Clarity and Impact
Make your song sound polished and professional — even without fancy equipment. You’ll learn how to balance volume levels, EQ your instruments, and use reverb and panning for space and depth. The goal: clean, game-ready sound that feels immersive and cohesive.

🚀 Day 5: Finalize and Showcase Your Track
Turn your song into a playable, loopable masterpiece. You’ll learn how to export and format your track for games, test seamless loops, and add finishing touches. Then, we’ll celebrate your finished piece — and explore how to use this same process to build a full soundtrack for your game.

What You’ll Walk Away With:

✅ A finished, original game track you created from scratch — ready to use in your project

Clarity and confidence in how to compose music that fits your game’s mood and world

✅ A simple, repeatable process for writing melodies, adding rhythm, and mixing your music

✅ The skills and structure to expand your single track into a complete, cohesive soundtrack

Meet Your Mentor - Bert Cole

Hi, I’m Bert Cole, a professional game music composer. Over the past 5 years, I’ve written 500+ original songs, delivering at least one new track every week to my Patreon supporters. My music has been downloaded over 81,000 times on itch.io, used in hundreds of games, and can be heard on Nintendo, Xbox, PlayStation, and PC.

You may have heard my work in Crystal Project, and my guitar playing and sound effects feature in the recently released Quartet.

Now, I’m sharing the exact process I use to create polished, game-ready music — from chord progressions and melodies to rhythm, mixing, and final loops — so you can compose your own original tracks confidently, efficiently, and without years of formal training.

FAQ

Q: Will I really have a song in 5 days?

A: Yes - I'll walk you through exactly how to structure it, develop it, and finish it.

By the end, you'll have a song that YOU wrote!

Q: Do I need to use a specific DAW?

A: No - I'll be focusing on music composition. The DAW you use doesn't matter as the principles are the same.

Q: What if I don't have a DAW??

A: DAW's are an essential part of producing music these days, so you'll need to download one. I recommend LMMS for Windows and Linux, or GarageBand for Mac as these are FREE options. I also suggest you somewhat familiarize yourself with your DAW beforehand. Again this is a composition challenge, not a "how do I use my DAW" challenge.

Q: Who is this class for?

A: This challenge is for indie game developers who want to learn how to compose their own music — even if they’ve never written a song before. If you’ve got a game in development and want to create custom music that fits your world, characters, or atmosphere, this challenge will show you exactly how to do it.
Whether you’re a solo dev, small team, or just someone who wants to better understand how game soundtracks are made, you’ll walk away with a finished track and the tools to keep creating.

Q; Who is this class NOT for?

A: This isn’t for people looking for a quick gimmick or a “push-button” solution. If you’re not willing to put in a bit of creative effort each day or just want to passively watch without doing the homework, this challenge probably isn’t for you.
But if you’re serious about bringing your game world to life through music — even if you’re a beginner — you’ll fit right in.

Q: How much is the training?

A: There are 2 ways to participate in The Make Your Own Game Music Challenge . The General Admission is only $47 and the VIP Experience is only $147 for a VIP ticket, which includes an additional hour live coaching session where Bert Cole answers Q&A and gives feedback for VIP Ticket holders.

Q: Are the classes live?

A: Yes, classes will be live. Although the classes will be live and recorded you won't be able to purchase the recordings so you will need to watch the challenge live or watch the recordings for the limited time they will be posted in the private group.

Q: How does the 5 day challenge work?

A: Each day the challenge training will run from 12-1pm ET, with backstage additional VIP training with questions from VIP ticket holders from 11am-12pm ET each day. In the evening you are encouraged to complete the tasks within the window provided.

Q: Will I get direct feedback from Bert?

A: Only if you purchase an upgrade of a VIP ticket. If you have General Admission you will not have access to listen to the Q&A sessions prior to the general training.

Q: What is a VIP ticket and where can I purchase one?

A: A VIP ticket is an upgraded ticket that allows you to come an hour early each day and ask your question during the VIP session and get direct coaching from Bert. These tickets are limited to 10 each challenge and are first come, first serve.

Q: What if I’m not a composer or musician? Can I still join?

A: Yes! You don’t need to be a trained musician to benefit from this challenge. Everything is taught step-by-step and focused on helping game developers use music as a storytelling tool.
If you’ve ever wanted to understand how game soundtracks are built — from the first chord to the final mix — you’ll learn the process hands-on. By the end, you’ll have your first original game track and a creative foundation to build your full soundtrack.
